The city of Brasov attracts with its historic town in a scenic mountain area and with numerous cultural and natural attractions which can be found in the surrounding area. That’s why it is an excellent place to be based or to start a tour in Transylvania. You can reach the city by plane on the Brasov Airport (GHV), using international or domestic trains or by car. If you are landing in Bucharest we can provide a private transfer to Brasov or you can choose a 3 hrs train ride. Our small group tour is designed to be a journey through the most important historic sites from Transylvania to have a taste of our food and to find more about our traditions and customs.

Day 1. BRASOV – BRAN – SIBIEL
9.00 - 9.30 AM. We’ll pick you up from your hotel / address in Brasov and you’ll meet your tour guide.
We will start our journey with a panoramic walking tour in the historic town of Brasov.
Highlights: Council Square, Black Church, White and Black Towers, Weaver’s Bastion and Ecaterina’s Gate, The Rope’s street, etc. The city of Brasov has its origins back to 13th century and it was one of the most important trade centres and one of the most fortified townsAlong the walk we can admire buildings dating since medieval period combined with the 19th century architectural styles.
Next we’ll drive to the famous Bran castle, an imposant gothic castle dating since 14th century and a former “gate” of Transylvania. We’ll visit the castle – standard tour + torture chamber.
Short time at your leisure to buy souvenirs or to have a quick lunch.
We’ll end our day in the Sibiel village, an old and picturesque village, characteristic for this area of Transylvania, inhabited by Romanian shepherds for centuries.
It is an opportunity to find more about the local villagers' way of life, traditions and to introduce you to the traditional cuisine, which is based on locally produced ingredients.
We’ll spend a nice afternoon and evening in the village. Feel like a local farmer and have a horse driven wagon ride through the village and its surroundings! It is a great way to see the village architecture and way of life. We will visit a local household to see how a regular family organizes its domestic activities, domestic animals, vegetable garden, etc.
Participate in a short cooking class to learn how to cook a traditional Romanian dish. The ones which don’t want to cook may just enjoy an afternoon in the garden or having a local drink.
In the evening you’ll be delighted by a Traditional Dinner style, 3 coursest + desert, water, plum brandy, local beer / wine.

Day 2. SIBIEL – SIBIU – BIERTAN - SIGHISOARA
Breakfast. Next visit: the old city of Sibiu, a candidate to be included in the UNESCO list and a former European Capital of Cultures. it was the biggest medieval town of Transylvania and today is one of the most popular tourist sights. Highlights: Big Square, Little Square, Orthodox and Lutheran-Evangelical Cathedrals, Liars bridge, medieval wall, etc. Sibiu is a vibrant city with a charming old town and a walk will reveal parts of the local history and culture. It is considered one of the European most romantic places to live and visit.
We’ll continue on a very scenic route with old Transylvanian villages, spread out between the green rolling hills and valleys and with great views over the Carpathians mountains.
We’ll have a stop in Biertan village, an important trade centre in the Middle Age and the Biertan fortified church (UNESCO site), built in 15-16th century. Here was the headquarters of the Evangelical Bishops for about 300 years.
In the afternoon we’ll arrive at Sighisoara (UNESCO) the best preserved medieval town of Transylvania. The main sights: Clock Tower and History Museum, Birth place of Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler), Covered stairs, Church on the Hill, towers and fortifications. Enjoy a walk on the narrow streets paved with river stones.
Dinner in a famous restaurant from Sighisoara – the House of Vlad Dracul, the place where the legendary Vlad Dracula was born..

Day 3. SIGHISOARA – SASCHIZ – VISCRI – RUPEA – PREJMER - BRASOV
Breakfast. We will continue our small group tour in Transylvania going to Saschiz village (UNESCO site) which host two important monuments:
The Saschiz Church. Built in 1493 in Gothic style it is one of the nicest old churches from Transylvania. The complex was surrounded by a powerful defensive wall, the perimeter of which is today marked by a fence.The only surviving portion is the northern tower, which was fitted with a prominent spire in 1677
Saschiz Peasant Fortress. Was built in the 14th century and it is also called "the Giants castle" following a local legend.
We’ll have a “sweet start of the day” with a tasting of jams and chutneys, locally produced.
Next we’ll drive to one of the most charming Transylvanian villages – Viscri. The village preserves the authentic architecture of the houses, old way of life, traditions and crafts. It is considered a great sample of the Saxon / German Heritage of Transylvania. Enjoy a walk through the village and visit the Viscri Fortified church (UNESCO)
A Typical Transylvanian Lunch (3 courses) will be served at the guest house.
After lunch we’ll visit the neighbouring Rupea fortress, built in 14th century , it is another sample of a Transylvanian fortress, called “the peasant citadel”
The last visited place of our trip in Transylvania will be the Prejmer Fortified Church (UNESCO), one of the most impressive of its kind and a unique sample of a religious and defensive structure which can be seen only in Transylvania.
Approx at 6.00 PM we’ll end the tour back to Brasov. Drop-off at your hotel / train station or airport.

Payments
To secure your booking a deposit of 100 euro/person is required.
The final payment has to be made with minimum 15 days prior the tour start.
The payments can be made online by credit card or by banking transfer
In certain circumstances can be made cash or card on arrivalCancellations
Special conditions. If an emergency situation occurs (pandemic, disasters, revolution, war, etc) and the Romanian authorities or the authorities from the traveler’s country impose restrictions to travel, to enter or leave the country, the cancellation can be made anytime without any penalty.Standard conditions. If none of the above mentioned situations occur the cancellation policy is:
No penalty apply if the cancellation is made with minimum 15 days prior the tour. Any deposit paid will be refunded in maximum 10 days.
50 % penalty fee apply if the cancellation is made with 5-14 days prior the our departure.
100% penalty fee apply if the cancellation is made with less than 5 days prior the tour start or in case of NO SHOW.
